The Draft Bankside Neighbourhood Plan has been shaped by local residents and businesses. Help make sure it is right, by reading and responding to the consultation.

Bankside is a special place – a local neighbourhood at the heart of a global city. Development and change are part of everyday life here and bring opportunities as well as challenges. For more than three years a team of dedicated local residents and businesses has been drawing up ideas, capturing earlier consultation and gathering new views from local people and workers to produce this draft of the plan.

The plan contains planning policies to help guide planning decisions made by the Council, and community projects to be funded by future developments. Both are needed to help keep Bankside special.

We now need your input again in completing a questionnaire about the Draft Bankside Neighbourhood Plan, to help make sure we've got it right.

How do I complete the questionnaire?

You can read the whole draft Bankside plan here which includes links to the appendices.  Then you can fill in this online survey, which asks for feedback on specific policies and projects that are in the draft plan.    There is space for you to leave further comments about other elements of the draft plan at the end of the survey.

The more specific you can be with your comments the more likely it is that your ideas will make a difference. You can go back to an earlier page to change your answers with the 'Previous' button.

You can also read the draft plan in hard copy at any of the following locations.

  • John Harvard Library, 211 Borough High Street
  • Bankside Community Space, 18 Great Guildford Street
  • Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, 108 Stamford Street
  • Bankside Open Spaces Trust, Eco House, Ayres Street

If you would like to fill in a paper copy of the questionnaire, please phone us c/o Better Bankside on 020 7928 3998.

What happens next?

The public consultation will last for eight weeks from 17 March 2016 - 27 May 2016.   Bankside Neighbourhood Forum will review all the comments and prepare a final version to be submitted to Southwark Council and an independent examination. There will then be a public vote of all local residents and businesses.

Remember, Bankside Neighbourhood Plan is planning for Bankside’s future.  Help make sure the policies and projects are right.
